SUMMARY:Power of Florence - Heceta Dunes Scotch Broom Removal
DESCRIPTION:As part of Power of Florence\, the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative is sponsoring a Scotch broom removal event at Heceta Dunes on Saturday\, July 27 from 10 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are needed to continue our efforts to remove invasive Scotch broom from one of our “Protect the Best” sites. This is a family event\, so children and friendly dogs on leash are welcome. \nWear sturdy\, closed-toe shoes for hiking on the sand and bring work gloves\, water\, snacks\, and sunscreen. Please bring shovels\, hand saws\, or loppers if you have them. If you don’t\, ODRC will have a limited supply of tools you can borrow. \nDirections: Take Highway 101 north of Florence and turn left on Heceta Beach Rd.\, turn right on 4th Ave. and go to the end\, turn right on Joshua Lane and go to the end. SUMMARY:Sutton Creek Trail Party – Central Coast
DESCRIPTION:Project Information: \nWe will be doing brushing maintenance (clearing the trail corridor) using weed whackers\, loppers\, and hand saws. We will work at a gentle pace\, enjoy the forest landscape\, and take some time for lunch. There is a restroom at the trailhead. \nHiking information: \nWe will be hiking along the sutton creeek trail. We will go about 1-2 miles working and brushing the trail as we go. \nYou should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons\, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early. \nEvent details: \nDetailed event information\, including directions to the meeting location\, will be provided to registrants via email 48 hours prior to the event.
