SUMMARY:Florence Warming Center Open
DESCRIPTION:Any time the cold forecasts fall into the 30s\, we will open the Warming Center. Visit the Facebook page for the latest info: https://www.facebook.com/FECWS \nWe will be located at the Florence Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (FUUF) facility\, 87738 US-101\, Florence\, OR 97439.  We will open at 5 p.m. and close at 8 a.m.  We will serve dinner and breakfast and provide sleeping mats/linens/blankets for overnight stays. \nVolunteers are encouraged to contact Karen Twitchell at ktwitch524@gmail.com to access SignUpGenius.  We’re always looking for community cooks to provide dinner and breakfast\, as well as volunteers to help out at the Warming Center itself. \nTransportation: Pickup spots are at Fred Meyer\, the Library\, Safeway\, Grocery Outlet\, and the 37th street laundromat.  There are white flags at each location and people should gather by the flags.

DESCRIPTION:https://www.ci.florence.or.us/calendar \nThose wishing to express their views to the City Council may do so in the following ways: \n1. Written Testimony: Citizens are encouraged to submit written comments since it allows the public body an opportunity to review and consider the remarks in advance of the public meeting. Written testimony may be submitted by: \nEmail to City Recorder HERE; NOTE: Written comments received at least 2 hours prior to the start of the meeting (April 4\, 2022 at 3:30 p.m.)\, that concern a public hearing or action item on the agenda\, or are designated as public comments to be provided for the meeting\, will be distributed to the City Council\, posted to the City of Florence website\, and made part of the record. \n2. Verbal Comments / Testimony: In order to provide verbal comments / testimony\, citizens are required to complete a speaker’s card at least 1 hour prior to the start of the meeting (April 4\, 2022 at 4:30 p.m.). Speaker’s cards are available online at https://www.ci.florence.or.us/council/request-address-city-council-speakers-card or by contacting City Recorder Lindsey White via email HERE\, or via phone at 541-997-3437. Once a speaker’s card is received\, City Staff will contact the speaker to let them know the process to participate in the meeting. In order to be contacted\, parties must complete the contact information in the speaker’s card form.
