DESCRIPTION:You’re Invited to Experience “Odd-umn” at the FEC Galleries\n\nFlorence\, Oregon Coast – Florence Arts\, Culture & Entertainment (FACE) Gallery Committee invites the community to its annual fall exhibit\, “Odd-umn\,” on display from October 7 – November 25\, 2025 at the Florence Events Center.\n\nThis show theme\, Odd-umn—a playful combination of “Odd” and “Autumn ”— celebrates the creative possibilities of the season. Expect works inspired by crisp fall colors\, harvest bounty\, and the spooky delights of scarecrows\, goblins\, and “The Great Pumpkin.”\nArtists embrace the theme in a wide range of styles\, from whimsical and lighthearted to eerie and thought-provoking. The show features both 2D works (including photography) and 3D creations.\n\nParticipating artists: Chantelle Meyer\, Pat Briggs\, Alan Huck\, Jerry Schneider\, Vesta Steinfield\, Tamarah Phillips\, Cleo Goss\, Joshua Smith\, Brandt Legg\, Teakki Legg\, Karen M Burke\, Lara Magruder\, Bobbie Soshnick\, Harriet Greene\, David Stockton\, Melissa Davis\, Jo Beaudreau\, Jil Jensen\, Marijo Vollmar\, Jo Guzman\, and Kassy Keppol.\nArtwork is priced to fit all budgets\, making Odd-umn the perfect opportunity to collect original pieces while supporting local talent. SUMMARY:25th Annual Pounding for Florence Food Share
DESCRIPTION:The 25th annual “Pounding” to benefit Florence Food Share will be held at Grocery Outlet on Saturday\, November 22\, from 10 am to 2 pm.  Founded and hosted by local businesswoman Cindy Wobbe\, this annual food drive aims to fill the food bank’s pantries with much-needed canned\, boxed\, and frozen food items in time for the holiday season.  The event will be conducted as a drive-through donation drop directly in front of the store.  \nStarted in 2000 and held on the Saturday just before Thanksgiving\, the Pounding is modeled after the early tradition often practiced in small communities when a new family or preacher would move to town.  “To help folks get their feet firmly planted\, everyone would join together and contribute a pound of food to fill the pantry.  Someone would bring a pound of flour\, another a pound of sugar\, and somebody else a pound of beans.  When everybody chips in\, we can fill those shelves pretty quickly\,” said Wobbe.   “Nearly 800 families in our community are food insecure and rely on Food Share each month for assistance.  The current housing crisis and economic challenges place extraordinary stress on both Food Share and the families it serves.  That need is not going to go away.  This food drive has been a godsend year after year.”  To date\, this event has raised over 235\,000 pounds of food. \nWobbe will be joined by local radio personalities from KCST Coast Radio\, which has conducted a live radio remote on location every year since the beginning.  Purchasing food from Grocery Outlet is not required; food from any commercially packed source will be accepted.  However\, Florence Grocery Outlet marks specials throughout the store of items most desperately needed at the food bank and plans to have extra staff available during the event to help with pushing grocery carts\, loading boxes of canned foods\, and ringing in customers at the check stands.\nGrocery Outlet is located at 2066 Hwy. 101.  The Pounding will begin at 10 am on Saturday\, November 22\, and continue until 2 pm.

DESCRIPTION:This is a monthly gathering for our Studio creative community to appreciate\, practice\, and explore approaches/techniques in meditative drawing such as Zentangling\, drawing from observation\, “slow” drawing\, Neurographic arts\, and more. Each session\, we will practice our drawing skills together in a supportive and relaxed environment. Also open to members of the public; beginners welcome! \nLed by a creative arts professional\, at each session\, we will explore a new design\, drawing technique or meditative drawing style. Each assignment will be guaranteed to help you get in the “flow”\, and will help you build new perspectives and skills. If you like\, you can also use the time to work on a meditative drawing project of your own\, share with the group\, trade tips and tricks\, and get technical guidance and support from one another and the group leader. \nYou’re welcome to bring your own drawing supplies and reference material to practice with; We will have extra tools and materials on hand as needed. \nDrawing supplies may also be purchased in advance from Beaux Arts art supply store in Florence\, located just off Hwy. 101 in the Coastal Fitness shopping plaza. \nYou may pre-register for this event\, or pay at the desk at time of session. Kids 6-12 can attend for half price!
