DESCRIPTION:Join the City of Florence for the 2026 Community Scavenger Hunt! The City is utilizing GooseChase to encourage exploration of the Florence Community. This year’s Community Scavenger Hunt is sponsored by the Central Oregon Coast Board of Realtors. Thank you! \nThe game will go live on Friday\, July 3\, at 8 a.m. and close on Sunday\, July 19\, at midnight. These dates encompass both the Fourth of July holiday and the 2026 Florence Community Block Party on Friday\, July 17. \nHow it Works:\nComplete the missions to earn points! The top three to five players with the most points will receive a Florence Swag Bag. \nOur community scavenger hunt will have three types of missions: \n\nKnowledge Missions: Participants will have the opportunity to answer questions and riddles.\nPhoto Missions: Photo missions will direct participants to take photos at the Block Party\, with members of our community\, at Florence landmarks\, or just doing fun activities.\nVideo Missions: The video missions challenge participants to complete fun videos at the Block Party\, with members of our community\, or at Florence landmarks\, at home\, or around the community.\nBonus Missions: We have incorporated some special bonus opportunities in the photo and video missions. DESCRIPTION:Join TKO in community and fun as we restore the surface of the trail from Dry Lake Trailhead!\n\n\nRegister for event here! \nCrew Leader: Noelle \nMax Size of Crew: 8 \nHike Distance: up to 2 mile(s) \nElevation Gain: 300 feet \nHike Intensity: Low to Moderate \nWork Intensity: Moderate \nWork Type: Tread Work \n\nProject Information: \nWe will be doing tread maintenance (digging on the trail surface to restore it to its original corridor) using digging tools. We will work at a gentle pace\, enjoy the forest landscape\, and take some time for lunch. \nHiking information: \nPrepare to hike several miles while carrying tools and packs and working as we go. The hike can be up to 2 miles and several hundred feet in elevation. \nYou should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons\, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early. \nEvent details: \nDetailed event information\, including directions to the meeting location\, will be provided to registrants via email 48 hours prior to the event. If you’re volunteering for the first time\, read this blog by a volunteer to know what to expect at your first trail party.

SUMMARY:Mindful Drawing Group
DESCRIPTION:A weekly practice group focusing on the meditative benefits of drawing and mixed media arts. \nStudies in the Creative Arts Therapies have shown that drawing\, especially when incorporated as part of a regular meditative practice\, can help promote relaxation\, mindful presence\, beneficial “flow” states\, and a sense of well being. \nIn this weekly practice group\, we will learn and share a variety of drawing techniques that are especially good for helping with creating a meditative state. Some areas we have explored\, but are not limited to\, included: \nNeurographic art\nTouch drawing\nBlind contour drawing\n“slow” drawing\nZentangle and Zen Doodling\ndrawing from still life\nReverse water color pages\nadding shading and color to pen and ink drawings \nSessions are facilitated by an experienced artist\, and all necessary tools and materials are provided. You are welcome to bring your own favorite materials as desired. No prior experience is necessary for Mindful Drawing sessions\, just your sense of curiosity and creativity!
