SUMMARY:Harris Ranch 3 day BCST – Central Coast
DESCRIPTION:Join TKO on one of our Back Country Service Trips! Spend 3 days cutting vegetation/working on the trail surface while in the wilderness. \nFor more details and to register\, click here!  \nThis project will require strong hiking abilities\, and will include completing work while moving an overnight pack. Please consider your personal fitness level before signing up. If you have any questions\, or are unsure if this the right trip for you\, please reach out! \nProject Information: \nWe will spend three days (two nights) brushing and fixing the tread (surface of the trail) along this 3.5 mile trail. Day 1 we will hike to the bottom and set up base camp\, have lunch and do afternoon trail work. Day 2 we will hike up the trail and work on tread and brush. Day 3 we will pack up camp and slowly hike our way out while working along the way. \nHiking information: \nWe will be hiking from the Harris Ranch Trailhead. We will descend down the trail as a group. We will establish a base camp at the bottom of the trail and this is where we will camp for the 2 nights. We will hike up from the campsite up to 1 -2 miles each day and then on the final day hike the 3.35 miles back out. This means that you may want to bring a smaller day pack to use when we go back up the trail to do work. \nThis is a narrow and diffult trail with uneaven terrain. \nYou should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons\, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early. \nCamping Details: \nThis is a self-supported trip! Please make sure to bring adequate food and water filtration\, as well as tent\, sleeping bag\, and any other equipment you may need for 2 nights in the backcountry. If you need to borrow some gear (sleeping bag\, water filter\, backpack\, etc) please let me know asap! \n

SUMMARY:Goin' with the Flo Vintage Trailer Open House with Classic Cars
DESCRIPTION:VINTAGE TRAILER OPEN HOUSE RETURNS TO FLORENCE \nCome to Florence and “roll-retro” during the 9th annual Goin’ with the Flo Vintage Trailer Rally and Community Open House. \nDozens of kitschy-campy vintage travel trailers will be decked out for public viewing at Heceta Beach RV Park\, 4636 Heceta Beach Rd (at the intersection with Rhododendron Dr.)\, Saturday\, September 26\, 2026. The free\, family-friendly event runs from noon to 3:00 p.m. \n“This is about celebrating the spirit of vintage camping and the artistry of restoration\,” said organizer Terry Hankins. “The trailers are all so different. Some quite rare and have such interesting histories and enjoy vintage hot rods and cool cars which will be cruising in around noon to stage by the trailers too.” \nSome of the trailers are restored to perfection\, some are still in the careful and loving restoration process. The public is welcome to come meet the owners who love to share about their love for vintage trailer camping\, restoration\, and what it takes to keep these relics on the road. \n“Florence is known as Oregon’s Coastal Playground for many reasons—golf\, fishing\, crabbing\, sandboarding\, riding the dunes on an ATV; but\, thinking within the context of “retro\,” it is also a super town for antiquing and thrifting. So if you’re thinking of a weekend getaway\, this makes for a great time to come out and play\,” said organizer Terry Hankins. Hankins and her husband Dan are owners Exploding Whale Beach Camp\, home to their three classic rentable (AirBnB) Airstreams and a 1960s Streamline. \nFor more information about Goin’ with the Flo\, call or text Terry Hankins\, 541-999-3078\, email xplodingwhale@gmail.com\, or search Facebook for “9th Annual Goin’ with the Flo Vintage Trailer Rally.” For directions and reservations\, call Heceta Beach RV Park at 541-997-7664.
