DESCRIPTION:  \nCall for Art\nElm Park Early Learning Center & Apartments \nElm Park Apartments and Elm Park Early Learning Center\, in partnership with Florence Regional Arts Alliance (FRAA) and BeauxArts Fine Art Materials\, is pleased to invite emerging\, mid-career\, and established artists to submit 2D &/or 3D original artwork for their property. \nElm Park Apartments is an affordable rental housing complex located at 1051 Greenwood Street\, and Elm Park Early Learning Center is a co-located four-classroom childcare center at 1001 Greenwood Street. Both are in the City of Florence\, north-west of the City of Florence Justice Center. The property is currently under construction\, with plans to install the art from this call upon completion of construction and the grand opening of the property. Additional information about this project and its impact on our community is listed at the end of the application under Background Information. \nThere are several locations for art on these properties\, and the call requests two types of art. Each location has specific dimensions and particular requirements. \n\n2D works will be purchased and placed in the Elm Park Apartments’ Community Room and Rental Office\, which will welcome visitors and residents\, and in the entry corridor of the Elm Park Early Learning Center\, which will welcome children and parents each morning. \n3D\, up to two possible locations for outdoor sculptural work that will be purchased and installed outside. One east of outside the Community Building and the other between Buildings D & E.\n\nThe Art selected for these locations will provide community pride\, give artists an opportunity to share their art in an area with high visibility and create a sense of place for our community members and visitors.  \nThere will be an Application & Project Presentation about this Call for Art on April 14\, 2026 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the FRAA Creative Center (1458 1st Street)\, right around the corner from the FRAA Gallery. Their work has created and sustained entities such as the Siuslaw Public Library\, PeaceHealth Peace Harbor Medical Center\, the Florence Events Center\, Lane Community College Florence Center\, the Power of Florence Day of Service\, the Kiwanis Flag Program – as continuing the work of service organizations such as Rotary\, Kiwanis\, Soroptimists\, Delta Gamma\, P.E.O.\, Elks\, and many others. \nThis year’s Legacy of Leadership event honors five First Citizen nominees for their lasting impacts through 2025 as well as the Future First Citizen nominees from Siuslaw High School for 2025. \nThe First Citizen Nominees are: \n\nDale Edwards\nGayle Sisson\nSally Wantz\nMike Webb\nGreg Wood\n\nThe Future First Citizen Nominees are: \n\nNyx Harklerode\nAdylin Holbrook\nDanin Lacouture\nCamden Linton\nJacob Mann\n\nCongratulations to the nominees! \nThe First Citizens Committee received twice the usual number of nominations this year in both categories; the five top scoring finalists were then submitted to the judging panel. Judging is an important honor undertaken by past First Citizens. The winners will be announced during the March 31 event. \nTickets to the Florence First Citizen Legacy Luncheon are now on sale through The Good Deed Project. The ticket price of $30 includes lunch and the Awards Ceremony. The event will recognize past First Citizens and honor the inspiring stories of this year’s nominees. DESCRIPTION:The Lane County Cultural Coalition (LCCC) offers Cultural Opportunity Grants to support cultural programs and projects. LCCC will host a grant proposal preparation workshop in the Bromley Room at Siuslaw Library to assist all grant seekers in their application preparation. Refreshments will be provided at this free event. (This program is neither sponsored nor endorsed by the Siuslaw Public Library District.) \nCultural Opportunity Grants are available to for-profit and nonprofit organizations and individuals to support access\, awareness\, and education for programs and projects related to arts\, heritage\, and humanities. Grant amounts generally range from $500 to $2\,500. Projects must occur in 2026.   \nThe deadline to submit grant applications will be Wednesday\, October 15th by 5pm. DESCRIPTION:Info Session & Call for Artists for Local Studio Art Tour \nThe Elements of Art Studio Tour is kicking off this year to feature homegrown local artists.  This local creative partnership between Dragon Art Studio and BeauxArts Fine Art Materials has brought forth a creative cultural and economic opportunity for all types of creatives at all levels of skill for a Studio Tour. This self guided open studio tour takes place over two weeks in September (9/6-7 and 9/20-21 from noon to 4pm) to provide people ample opportunities to experience multiple locations. \nA call for artists to be in the Tour is going on now. Deadline to apply is June 16th\, 2025. Register and learn more at ElementsOfArtStudioTour.com. Artists may also apply later than the date but might miss the printed materials opportunity.  \nAn information session about the Open Studio Tour\, Elements of Art Studio Tour\, will be held on May 30th at 5:30pm at BeauxArts Fine Art Materials\, 2285 Highway 101\, Suite H in Florence. This session will share how the tour will work for artist participants and be an opportunity for people to sign up to be on the tour. \nArtists in the tour will have an opportunity to sell their art with no commission taken\, connect with patrons of the Arts and share their incredible talent\, while giving participants of the Tour a look into how and where the Artist creates – where the magic happens!  This experience provides Tour participants a fun and fresh look at their favorite local artists and chance to discover new Artists and their work. \nArtists will be showcased in an Artists Directory in print and online allowing patrons to be able to connect with Artists after the show for commission works\, further purchases and giving artists the opportunity to build their audience. If Artists only want to be listed in the Artists Directory\, that is an opportunity too. \nTour participants will be able to get their passports stamped for chances to win prizes and art.  For those patrons interested in visiting the tour locations\, passes can be purchased at ElementsOfArtStudioTour.com. \nPatrons of the Arts (and fellow Artists) have an opportunity to sponsor an Artist on the tour.  Our Directory of Artists and the Studio Tour is one way we hope to bring awareness\, business and collaboration to local artists. We are striving to keep costs low for Artists – any contributions will go towards paying artists fees into this event and towards the publishing and running of the artist registry\, website\, and programming for artists. You can also help by buying art when you are on the tour and later from our talented artists! \nBasic artist information will be needed to participate and compliance for family friendly art will be needed.  An opportunity to learn how to merchandise your work and sell will be provided to Artists before the tour.
