Sweet Creek Falls work will be an onoging project with the Siuslaw Watershed Council doing a variety of different tread work to improve the condition of the trail. We will work at a gentle pace\, enjoy the forest landscape\, and take some time for lunch. \nHiking information: \nWe will meet at the Sweet Creek Falls Trailhead and hike in about 1/3 to a 1/2 mile into the worksite. We will be walking over rocky terrian\, bridges\, and catwalks. \nYou should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons\, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early. \nEvent details: \nDetailed event information\, including directions to the meeting location\, will be provided to registrants via email 48 hours prior to the event. DESCRIPTION:The Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative is hosting a volunteer event to remove Scotch broom at the John Dellenback Dunes on Saturday\, May 3 from 10:00 AM to Noon. Volunteers are needed to continue our efforts to remove invasive Scotch broom from one of our “Protect the Best” sites. It is approximately 0.4 miles uphill on the trail to the worksite. This is a family event\, so children and grandchildren are welcome. After the event\, it is a short walk to an outstanding viewpoint\, and the kids can enjoy rolling down the large sand dune! \nWear sturdy\, closed-toe shoes for hiking on the sand and bring work gloves\, water\, and snacks. Please bring shovels\, hand saws\, or loppers if you have them. If you don’t\, ODRC will have a limited supply of tools you can borrow. Day use fees are waived for volunteers at this event. \nDirections: From Florence\, take Hwy 101 South approximately 32.8 miles to the John Dellenback Dunes Trailhead. Turn right (west) into the trailhead. \nFrom Reedsport\, take Hwy 101 South approximately 10.5 miles to the John Dellenback Dunes Trailhead. Turn right (west) into the trailhead. \nFrom North Bend\, take Hwy 101 North approximately 13.0 miles to the John Dellenback Dunes Trailhead. Turn left (west) into the trailhead.

There will be a variety of work to complete. We will work as a team and take a break for lunch in the middle. \nHiking information: \nWe will be meeting at the Mary’s Peak summit day use lot and hike in about a 1/2 mile to the worksite where we will be working for the day. It will be a mix of on trail and off trail hiking. \nYou should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. DESCRIPTION:Join TKO as we repair the surface of the trail and do some seasonal brushing (clearing the trail corridor) on this wilderness trail!\nCrew Leader: Noelle W.\nMax Size of Crew: 12\nHike Distance: 8 miles round trip (over the span of 3 days!)\nElevation Gain: 1200 feet\nHike Intensity: High\nWork Intensity: Moderate\nWork Type: Tread repair and seasonal brushing\nProject Information: \nThis is a TKO BCST (Backcountry Service Trip). These are self-supported adventures\, meaning you’ll need to provide your own food and backpacking equipment. **Please consider your fitness level before signing up! Overnight volunteers will need to carry all their backpacking gear plus tools.** We’ll be camping in wilderness and adhering to all Leave No Trace principles. Please contact noelle.windesheim@trailkeepersoforegon.org for any questions. \nWe will be repairing tread work along the Harris Ranch Trail along with clearing back some seasonal brush. \nHiking information: \nWe will be hiking from the Harris RanchTrailhead. We will decent down the trail 3.35 miles and 1200 feet of elevation as a group. We will establish a base camp at the bottom of the trail and this is where we will camp for the 2 nights. We will hike up from the campsite up to 1 -2 miles each day and then on the final day hike the 3.35 miles back out. This means that you may want to bring a smaller day pack to use when we go back up the trail to do work. \nThis is a narrow and difficult trail with uneven terrain. \nYou should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons\, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early. \nRegistration and more details here!
