DESCRIPTION:West Lane Emergency Communications Network is a local neighborhood radio network that conducts a monthly radio check-in on the first Monday of each month at 1:00 pm PST. During an emergency where our normal communications services are compromised or eliminated\, this radio network would enable neighbors to communicate with each other\, other neighborhoods\, and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) wherever it may be located. The radio check-in is conducted on GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) channel 22\, utilising our repeater on Herman Peak north of Florence. While you can listen in on any GMRS radio on channel 22\, you must have a radio that can accept programming of send/receive offsets and tones (CH 22R (462.725MHz +5MHz offset  186.2Hz Tone).  Please contact Jay Guettler @ westlaneecn@gmail.com for more information or just join us on the radio at the listed time and date.

DESCRIPTION:Info Session & Call for Artists for Local Studio Art Tour \nThe Elements of Art Studio Tour is kicking off this year to feature homegrown local artists.  This local creative partnership between Dragon Art Studio and BeauxArts Fine Art Materials has brought forth a creative cultural and economic opportunity for all types of creatives at all levels of skill for a Studio Tour. This self guided open studio tour takes place over two weeks in September (9/6-7 and 9/20-21 from noon to 4pm) to provide people ample opportunities to experience multiple locations. \nA call for artists to be in the Tour is going on now. Deadline to apply is June 16th\, 2025. Register and learn more at ElementsOfArtStudioTour.com. Artists may also apply later than the date but might miss the printed materials opportunity.  \nAn information session about the Open Studio Tour\, Elements of Art Studio Tour\, will be held on May 30th at 5:30pm at BeauxArts Fine Art Materials\, 2285 Highway 101\, Suite H in Florence. If Artists only want to be listed in the Artists Directory\, that is an opportunity too. \nTour participants will be able to get their passports stamped for chances to win prizes and art.  For those patrons interested in visiting the tour locations\, passes can be purchased at ElementsOfArtStudioTour.com. \nPatrons of the Arts (and fellow Artists) have an opportunity to sponsor an Artist on the tour.  Our Directory of Artists and the Studio Tour is one way we hope to bring awareness\, business and collaboration to local artists. We are striving to keep costs low for Artists – any contributions will go towards paying artists fees into this event and towards the publishing and running of the artist registry\, website\, and programming for artists.
