At that time they will accept #2\, #4\, and #5 plastic for recycling. Your #2 plastic jugs and bottles can go directly into the curbside recycle bin\, but the Master Recyclers will accept the #2s that cannot be collected curbside. The #2 plastics that cannot go in the curbside recycle bin include things such as lids\, tubs\, and small bottles\, smaller than your fist.\nThe plastic must be clean\, dry\, and sorted as to number. DESCRIPTION:We will be restoring the surface of the trail using digging tools and clearing back the vegetation along the trail as well.\n\n\nCrew Leader: Noelle\nMax Size of Crew: 12\nHike Distance: 1 mile\nElevation Gain: less then 30 feet\nHike Intensity: Low\nWork Intensity: Moderate\nWork Type: brushing\, tread work\n  \nNote: This event is part of our Tidepools to Trails partnership with the Cape Perpetua Collaborative! Check out their tide pool event that morning at Yachats State Park here (clickable link). \nProject Information: \nWe will be doing some basic tread maintenance\, using grubbers\, tread tools\, and shovels to restore the surface of the trail. We will work at a gentle pace\, enjoy the forest landscape\, and take some time for lunch. \nHiking information: \nWe will meet at the Neptune State Park Scenic Viewpoint north parking lot before we cross the highway to get on the trail. We will hike to our worksite\, about 1/4 to 1/2 mile in. There are some ups and downs along this trail\, about 50 – 100 feet of elevatain gain. There is no restroom at the trailhead. Closest are a 1/4 north at teh Cape Pereptua Visitor Center or 1/4 south at the Neptune South parking lot. \nYou should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. SUMMARY:Umpqua Dunes Scotch Broom Removal
DESCRIPTION:Join the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative at the John Dellenback Dunes Trailhead to remove Scotch broom at the Umpqua Dunes on Saturday\, August 24 from 10 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are needed to continue our efforts to remove invasive Scotch broom from one of our “Protect the Best” sites. It is approximately 0.4 miles uphill on the trail to the worksite. This is a family event\, so children and friendly dogs on leash are welcome. \nWear sturdy\, closed-toe shoes for hiking on the sand and bring work gloves\, water\, snacks\, and sunscreen. Please bring shovels\, hand saws\, or loppers if you have them. If you don’t\, ODRC will have a limited supply of tools you can borrow. Day use fees are waived for volunteers at this event. \nDirections: From Florence\, take Hwy 101 South approximately 32.8 miles to the John Dellenback Dunes Trailhead. Turn right (west) into the trailhead. \nFrom Reedsport\, take Hwy 101 South approximately 10.5 miles to the John Dellenback Dunes Trailhead. Turn right (west) into the trailhead. \nFrom North Bend\, take Hwy 101 North approximately 13.0 miles to the John Dellenback Dunes Trailhead.
