SUMMARY:CoastBusters Walk for Breast Cancer
DESCRIPTION:CoastBusters Walk for Breast Cancer is the outcome of two local breast cancer survivors’ desire to inspire hope for other women and their families struggling with the effects of breast cancer. The 2nd annual CoastBusters Walk is a 3-mile walk that will be held on the track at Siuslaw Middle School on Saturday\, October 5th. Proceeds raised from the event will stay local and benefit Oregon Cancer Foundation. This foundation provides a wide array of support that aids breast cancer patients with many facets of their cancer treatment. CoastBusters is an opportunity to proudly raise awareness in the community and offer hope\, strength\, and courage to all who have been affected by breast cancer.

DESCRIPTION:Good evening\, \nMy name is Alfred Hitchcock\, and I would like to tell you about my forthcoming “Fall Into Hitchcock – the Sequel” film series at City Lights Cinemas in the charming\, peaceful town of Florence\, Oregon. The series will cover a collection of delightful and life-affirming films I have directed that will both educate and uplift filmgoers during the dreary fall months. \nIncluded in the series will be “The Birds\,” a tranquil interlude to an idyllic coastal town\, where we’ll cover our age-long relationship between mankind and our good friends\, the birds – a tale of mutual respect and loving care that would never\, ever go wrong. \nAnd in “Shadow of a Doubt\,” we focus on the heartwarming power of family and community\, where a man returns to his loving small town home after a string of unfortunate events – the poor man had picked up the unlucky habit of having all of his rich wives meet untimely deaths\, which of course would get anyone’s spirits down in the dumps. \n10 films in total will offer a variety of worthwhile and wholesome pursuits\, such as exploring the restorative powers of journaling with “Foreign Correspondent\,” to the calming  act of raking fall leaves in the crisp autumn air with “The Trouble With Harry.” \nWith the “Fall into Hitchcock” film series\, I promise you nothing but entertainment – a vacation from all your problems. \nUntil then\, goodnight. \nAlfred Hitchcock \n  \nFull series ticket prices (good for all shows\, all showing): $50 general\, $40 for City Lights members. \nSingle tickets: $10 for adults\, $9 for senior/military and student\, $8.50 for matinees\, and $7 for City Lights members. \nTimes: All shows held Tuesdays at 12:30 and 6:30 pm. \nTickets now available at the City Lights lobby at 1930 Highway 101\, or online at https://www.citylightscinemas.com/fall-into-hitchcock-2/. \nStay tuned to the City Lights Facebook page\, where we’ll be sharing a host of trivia\, history and artwork from the original releases of the films.

DESCRIPTION:This beginning ceramics class will introduce the basic elements of clay. Students will learn the procedures of working with clay from beginning use of wet clay\, through the various stages to completed\, fired pieces. Techniques taught will include pinching\, coil building\, slab construction and maybe a possible bonus wheel throwing-depending on class dynamics. Basics in tool use\, glazing and firing will be included. Registration to this 4 week course includes use of clay and four finished\, fired projects. \nThis class is reserved for 4 year olds through 6th grade. Parents with 4-6 year olds will need to stay to assist their child.

The series will cover a collection of delightful and life-affirming films I have directed that will both educate and uplift filmgoers during the dreary fall months. \nIncluded in the series will be “The Birds\,” a tranquil interlude to an idyllic coastal town\, where we’ll cover our age-long relationship between mankind and our good friends\, the birds – a tale of mutual respect and loving care that would never\, ever go wrong. \nAnd in “Shadow of a Doubt\,” we focus on the heartwarming power of family and community\, where a man returns to his loving small town home after a string of unfortunate events – the poor man had picked up the unlucky habit of having all of his rich wives meet untimely deaths\, which of course would get anyone’s spirits down in the dumps. \n10 films in total will offer a variety of worthwhile and wholesome pursuits\, such as exploring the restorative powers of journaling with “Foreign Correspondent\,” to the calming  act of raking fall leaves in the crisp autumn air with “The Trouble With Harry.” \nWith the “Fall into Hitchcock” film series\, I promise you nothing but entertainment – a vacation from all your problems. \nUntil then\, goodnight. \nAlfred Hitchcock \n  \nFull series ticket prices (good for all shows\, all showing): $50 general\, $40 for City Lights members. \nSingle tickets: $10 for adults\, $9 for senior/military and student\, $8.50 for matinees\, and $7 for City Lights members. \nTimes: All shows held Tuesdays at 12:30 and 6:30 pm. \nTickets now available at the City Lights lobby at 1930 Highway 101\, or online at https://www.citylightscinemas.com/fall-into-hitchcock-2/. \nStay tuned to the City Lights Facebook page\, where we’ll be sharing a host of trivia\, history and artwork from the original releases of the films.
