Walk with us as we “carry the light” through the longest night of the year\, celebrating the return of the Sun. \nWHERE:1st & Harbor at the Bridgeport Market East entrance\nWHEN: Gather at 4:45\, kicking off at 5:00pm.\nWHO: All Ages\, walk will be wheelchair accessible.  \nExpect to take around 20-40 minutes at a leisurely pace. Event will be held rain or shine\, so make sure to dress for the weather.\nLanterns\, light up toys\, costumery\, music\, song and dance and general merriment are encouraged!\nWe’ll meander along the Boardwalk and through Old Town\, and experience the annual light displays\, with magical discoveries and photo opportunities along the way.\nWe will be returning to Serene Abundance Studio Space on Maple street afterwards for warming up\, cocoa\, cider and socializing.

DESCRIPTION:This is a monthly gathering for our Studio creative community to appreciate\, practice\, and explore approaches/techniques in meditative drawing such as Zentangling\, drawing from observation\, “slow” drawing\, Neurographic arts\, and more. Each session\, we will practice our drawing skills together in a supportive and relaxed environment. Also open to members of the public; beginners welcome! \nLed by a creative arts professional\, at each session\, we will explore a new design\, drawing technique or meditative drawing style. Each assignment will be guaranteed to help you get in the “flow”\, and will help you build new perspectives and skills. His approach focuses on “a deeply embodied\, neuroscience-based\, and trauma-informed approach to meditation that has radically transformed personal practice for several thousand meditators.” Everyone is welcome to attend.  \nBring blankets\, pillows\, floor chairs\, water bottle\, or other items you might need to feel comfortable during the session. A journal or notebook and writing/creative materials are also recommended. On January 8\, 2025 they will be the featured program at Florence Area Community Coalition’s monthly meeting.\nThis long-serving 501(c)(3) organization champions kindness and actively works to improve the lives of people.  They serve at many events throughout the year\, do fundraisers\, and provide sight and hearing services in the community. The Lions Club hosts an annual bass fishing tournament\, they award scholarships to high school students\, do vision screening of grade school students\, collect used eye glasses and hearing aids\, provide service to help address hunger in the community\, and so much more. Lions are actively serving their communities in over 200 countries and geographic areas around the world\, and Florence Siuslaw Lions are looking for individuals right here in Florence who would like to join their team.
