We will work at a gentle pace\, enjoy the forest landscape\, and take some time for lunch. \nHiking information: \nWe will meet at the Holman Vista Day Use Area and hike about 1 mile working along the way. It is a gentle paced loop with about 30 feet of elevation gain and we will work together as a group. \nYou should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. DESCRIPTION:The Siuslaw Rhododendron Society is having a spring Rhododendron Flower Show at the Florence Events Center on May 18th and 19st. For more information go to: http://www.siuslawars.org \nThe Siuslaw Chapter Flower Shows are a judged show. We strongly encourage all chapter members and the community at large to participate by bringing many entries. Our aim is to educate and introduce to the show viewers the many selections available in the Rhododendron world. We believe the larger the presentation the greater the learning. \nEntries to the show are accepted on Saturday morning from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM. An entry card must be filled out for each entry entered. Entry cards may be obtained at a chapter meeting just before each flower show or at the flower show on Saturday morning. To save time\, you may want to use one of your “stick on” mailing return address labels in the entry card name and address section. \nViewing of the show is open to the public – without charge – as soon as judging is completed. (Typically\, around 12:00 – 12:30 PM) On Saturday the show will be open to the public until 5:00 PM. On Sunday the show is open from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM. \nEntries and any ribbons may be retrieved no sooner than 4:30 PM Sunday. Only the person who delivers the entry will be allowed to remove it without previous arrangements. All entries remaining at 5:00 PM will be removed by the show break-down committee. \nA Rhododendron Flower Show is a great place to find what flowers would look great in your garden! The Siuslaw Chapter also has an outdoor plant sale during both shows. Many selections of Rhododendrons and Azaleas are available for a reasonable price. You can usually get access to the plant sale around 10:00 AM on both Saturday morning and Sunday Morning. (Cash\, check\, or credit card.)

DESCRIPTION:Join TKO as we work to restore the Gwynn Creek Trail surface using grubbers\, digging tools\, and (bent over) shovels.\n\nREGISTER AT THE LINK BELOW!\n\n\nCrew Leader: Noelle W.\nMax Size of Crew: 12\nHike Distance: 1/2 mile to 1 mile\nElevation Gain: 50 – 100 feet\nHike Intensity: Low\nWork Intensity: Low to Moderate\nWork Type: Tread work and maybe minimal brushing\n  \nProject Information: \nWe will be doing some basic tread maintenance\, using grubbers\, tread tools\, and shovels to restore the surface of the trail. We will work at a gentle pace\, enjoy the forest landscape \, and take some time for lunch. \nHiking information: \nWe will meet at the Neptune State Park Scenic Viewpoint north parking lot before we cross the highway to get on the trail. We will hike to our worksite\, about 1/4 to 1/2 mile in. There are some ups and downs along this trail\, about 50 – 100 feet of elevatain gain. \nYou should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons\, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early. \nEvent details: \nDetailed event information\, including directions to the meeting location\, will be provided to registrants via email 48 hours prior to the event. This event is open to existing Ambassadors and anyone interested in the program.\n\nREGISTER AT THE LINK BELOW!\n\n\nHike Leaders: Noelle W.\nHike Distance: 3 miles\nElevation Gain: 300 feet\nHike Intensity: Low to Moderate\n  \nSite Overview: \nSweet Creek Falls Trail Complex is located near Mapleton on Hwy 126 inland of the Oregon Coast. Four tiered-plunges ranging from 10 to 30 feet cascade for a total of 70 feet creating a multiple waterfall effect. Many other smaller falls grace the hike in. \nHiking information: \nWe will be hiking the Sweet Creek Trail\, starting at the Sweet Creek Trail parking lot. This trail is a 3 mile route with about 300 feet in elevation gain. The first part of this hike is generally considered low intensity. Dogs are prohibited. Click here for more information on the trail\, including a map. \nWhat to expect: \nWe will be meeting at the trailhead in the morning to do introductions\, chat Trail Ambassadors\, and set up the table station before heading out on the hike to learn about the area we are serving. This site is managed by Siuslaw National Forest and we ask that you follow all posted signage and regulations. \nYou should expect to participate in this hike for its entirety.
