DESCRIPTION:On January 22\, 2026\, FACC and Lane County Public Health will host a review and discussion of the recently completed 2024-2025 Community Health Assessment. FACC aims to provide our Western Lane communities with relevant\, useful demographic information. \n1 – 4 pm in the Bromley Room of the Siuslaw Public Library\, FACC and Lane County Public Health will host a Data Party to present and discuss the data underlying the new Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). \nThis is a major step in a collaborative project to build a Western Lane demographic database that describes our communities\, that helps us understand our problems\, and that aids us in creating solutions.  \nAmong other things\, we wish to provide a public and accessible source of information for those who seek grants and funding. Your participation can help make this a reality! \nThe CHIP data and plan documents are hosted by Live Healthy Lane on their website\, and you are encouraged to download and explore the information before the Data Party. \n \nLive Healthy Lane is a community-based effort to improve the health and well-being of those who live\, learn\, work\, and play in Lane County. \nCreating the conditions for optimal health is the responsibility of everyone in our community. The community work includes the periodic assessment of health issues and needs in Lane County (the Community Health Assessment; CHA) and the development and implementation of the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

DESCRIPTION:This is a monthly gathering for our Studio creative community to appreciate\, practice\, and explore approaches/techniques in meditative drawing such as Zentangling\, drawing from observation\, “slow” drawing\, Neurographic arts\, and more. Each session\, we will practice our drawing skills together in a supportive and relaxed environment. Also open to members of the public; beginners welcome! \nLed by a creative arts professional\, at each session\, we will explore a new design\, drawing technique or meditative drawing style. Each assignment will be guaranteed to help you get in the “flow”\, and will help you build new perspectives and skills. With Parkinson’s\, sometimes one’s ability to do these actives confidently and safely can be affected. When this happens\, working with an Occupational Therapist (OT) can by extremely beneficial! \nJoin Molly Schroder\, OT\, for an interactive and engaging discussion about what OTs do\, how they help their clients\, and explore the many adaptive ‘gizmos and gadgets’ they use to help people achieve their goals. You will discover that there is much more to working with an OT than just the activities of daily living! Molly will also explain how to set specific\, achievable\, goals and what to expect when working with an Occupational Therapist. Attendees will have the opportunity to try some devices and have an open conversation with Molly about the tools that could work for them.

DESCRIPTION:West Lane Emergency Communications Network is a local neighborhood radio network that conducts a monthly radio check-in on the first Monday of each month at 1:00 pm PST. During an emergency where our normal communications services are compromised or eliminated\, this radio network would enable neighbors to communicate with each other\, other neighborhoods\, and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) wherever it may be located. The radio check-in is conducted on GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) channel 22\, utilising our repeater on Herman Peak north of Florence.
