They will talk about the experiences that led to the creation of his memoir\, what it means to be a good neighbor and citizen in the face of overwhelming challenges\, and how shared books and stories build stronger communities. \nYou can join us for a live watch party in the Bromley Room\, or register to watch the free event from home via Zoom. SUMMARY:First Friday After Hours at the Studio
DESCRIPTION:Drop in at Serene Abundance Studio Space every First Friday evening of the month for our community focused After Hours event.  \nYou can look forward to displays of live painting from local and regional artists\, updates on what’s new with our Gallery\, classes and upcoming activities\, fun and danceable music\, an intimate and welcoming space for movement\, connecting and fun\, and of course our community potluck.  \nYou can also expect an open easel or two for you to join in the art making fun\, and the occasional special showcase or performance in a variety of wellness and expressive arts media.  \nAll ages hour between 5 to 6pm – BYOB afterwards. We will have coffee\, tea and water available in addition to refreshments. On May 1 we be celebrating May Day with a community BBQ.

SUMMARY:Mindful Drawing Group
DESCRIPTION:A weekly practice group focusing on the meditative benefits of drawing and mixed media arts. \nStudies in the Creative Arts Therapies have shown that drawing\, especially when incorporated as part of a regular meditative practice\, can help promote relaxation\, mindful presence\, beneficial “flow” states\, and a sense of well being. \nIn this weekly practice group\, we will learn and share a variety of drawing techniques that are especially good for helping with creating a meditative state. Some areas we have explored\, but are not limited to\, included: \nNeurographic art\nTouch drawing\nBlind contour drawing\n“slow” drawing\nZentangle and Zen Doodling\ndrawing from still life\nReverse water color pages\nadding shading and color to pen and ink drawings \nSessions are facilitated by an experienced artist\, and all necessary tools and materials are provided. You are welcome to bring your own favorite materials as desired. No prior experience is necessary for Mindful Drawing sessions\, just your sense of curiosity and creativity!
