SUMMARY:Environmental Management Advisory Committee Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Sustaining and improving the City’s livability and quality of life is Goal 2 of the City of Florence work plan. The Environmental Management Advisory Committee (EMAC) realizes Goal 2 by developing local strategies and advising the City Council on protecting Florence’s health and environment and conserving energy and natural resources. They are responsible for insuring compliance with the City’s solid waste code (FCC 9-4)\, and DEQ’s recycling education rules (OAR 340-090-0030 & 0040) and they serve as the City’s Tree Board.  \nEMAC consists of 5 to 11 members\, of which the majority must be residents of the City and includes additional ex-officio non-voting members. SUMMARY:Environmental Management Advisory Committee Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Sustaining and improving the City’s livability and quality of life is Goal 2 of the City of Florence work plan. The Environmental Management Advisory Committee (EMAC) realizes Goal 2 by developing local strategies and advising the City Council on protecting Florence’s health and environment and conserving energy and natural resources. They are responsible for insuring compliance with the City’s solid waste code (FCC 9-4)\, and DEQ’s recycling education rules (OAR 340-090-0030 & 0040) and they serve as the City’s Tree Board.  \nEMAC consists of 5 to 11 members\, of which the majority must be residents of the City and includes additional ex-officio non-voting members. DESCRIPTION:Florence Pet Grief Support Group \nsponsored by the Florence Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (FUUF) Animal Ministry \nAre you… \nGrieving the death of a pet? \nAnticipating the death of your pet? \nWondering when if/when to euthanize an ailing pet? \nYou don’t have to go through this alone. \nCome receive and offer understanding and support to others who are coping \nwith the intense feelings and challenging issues related to pet grief \nThe group is facilitated by professional counselors/coaches who are animal lovers \nwith training in griefwork \n  \nWhen: First and Third Thursdays of the month\, 4:00 pm to 5:15 pm (starts July 18\, 2024) \nWhere: FUUF Center: 87738 Route 101 at Heceta Beach Rd.\, Florence\, OR \nWho: Adults 18 and over \nCost:  All are welcome free of charge.  “Love donation” requested. \nFacilitators: \nJudy Dolmatch\, MSW\, LCSW: Judy has worked as a private practice psychotherapist for over 40 years. She is a facilitator for the Florence Death Cafe\, and is certified in pet griefwork. \nDhyan Summers: Dhyan Summers is proud mum to Babu a 12 yr old rescued Shitzu.   When she’s not catering to Babu’s every whim she’s a psychotherapist working w individuals and couples.  You’ll also find her walking on the beach or trails (typically wBabu) baking\, cooking\, reading dancing and playing with friends. \nK.S.
