SUMMARY:5th Annual Coastal Plein Air Festival
DESCRIPTION:The two-week plein air painting event with artists participating from throughout the Pacific Northwest will culminate in Florence during the 5th annual Coastal Plein Air Art and  Wine Festival Sept. 18-20 at the Florence Events Center. Free entrance to the festival starts on Friday\, September 18th with an Artist Reception from 5-7:30 p.m. where you can meet the artists and renowned Plein Air painter and judge\, Scott Gellatly. The festival continues Saturday\, 11a.m.-5p.m. and Sunday\,11a.m.- 4p.m.. \nHosted by the Florence Regional Arts Alliance\, the Saturday  and Sunday event will showcase plein air art created along Oregon’s coastline\, as well as offer tastings from a  broad selection of regional wines. SUMMARY:Harris Ranch 3 day BCST – Central Coast
DESCRIPTION:Join TKO on one of our Back Country Service Trips! Spend 3 days cutting vegetation/working on the trail surface while in the wilderness. \nFor more details and to register\, click here!  \nThis project will require strong hiking abilities\, and will include completing work while moving an overnight pack. Please consider your personal fitness level before signing up. If you have any questions\, or are unsure if this the right trip for you\, please reach out! \nProject Information: \nWe will spend three days (two nights) brushing and fixing the tread (surface of the trail) along this 3.5 mile trail. Day 1 we will hike to the bottom and set up base camp\, have lunch and do afternoon trail work. Day 2 we will hike up the trail and work on tread and brush. Day 3 we will pack up camp and slowly hike our way out while working along the way. \nHiking information: \nWe will be hiking from the Harris Ranch Trailhead. We will descend down the trail as a group. We will establish a base camp at the bottom of the trail and this is where we will camp for the 2 nights. We will hike up from the campsite up to 1 -2 miles each day and then on the final day hike the 3.35 miles back out. This means that you may want to bring a smaller day pack to use when we go back up the trail to do work. \nThis is a narrow and diffult trail with uneaven terrain. \nYou should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons\, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early. \nCamping Details: \nThis is a self-supported trip! Please make sure to bring adequate food and water filtration\, as well as tent\, sleeping bag\, and any other equipment you may need for 2 nights in the backcountry. If you need to borrow some gear (sleeping bag\, water filter\, backpack\, etc) please let me know asap! \n

Come meet 40+ local and regional authors and exhibitors\, discover new books and genres\, learn about hybrid/ indie/ DIY publishing\, record and take home a two-minute audio piece\, and become part of Florence’s vibrant coastal writing community.  Students 18 and under are free with parents; all others pay a very modest entry fee at the door for a full slate of events (Keynote Speaker\, FIVE writing/ speaking workshops/ Authors Conversation\, and advice from publishing experts. DESCRIPTION:All are invited to our Annual Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday\, September 26th\, between 4:00 – 6:30 pm at the Florence Senior and Activity Center\, 1570 Kingwood Street.  This year\, Lovejoy’s Restaurant and Tea Room will be cooking and donating the meal\, and it is sure to be delicious.  The menu includes fresh salad\, choice of clam chowder or salmon bisque soup\, spaghetti with homemade meat or vegetarian sauce\, warm garlic bread\, chocolate cake\, carrot cake\, or cheesecake torte\, and summer refreshers for your beverage.  All for only $20.00 per person.  Children 13 and under are Free.  Please invite your family\, friends\, and neighbors and enjoy a delicious meal\, entertainment\, and fellowship as you support the Pregnancy and Parenting Center and our local families.  Tickets will be sold at the door.
