DESCRIPTION:Bike Parade – 10 a.m.\, Bay Street\, Old Town Florence \nWatermelon and Pie Eating Contests – 2 p.m.\, Port of Siuslaw near Bridgeport Market (register beginning at 10:30 a.m.) \nMusic – 6 p.m.\, Port of Siuslaw \nFireworks Show – 10 p.m.\, Port of Siuslaw \nDetails:\nOLD-FASHOINED JULY 4\, WITH GRAND FIREWORKS SHOW IN FLORENCE\, WILL BE A BLAST\nThe Florence Area Chamber of Commerce\, proving again that Florence is the family-friendly “Oregon’s Coastal\nPlayground\,” has announced this year’s Independence Day celebrations—from a 10:00 a.m. bike parade to pie-\nand watermelon-eating contests to live music to the fireworks at 10:00 p.m.—will take over Historic Old Town. \nThe Florence Area Chamber of Commerce\, the City of Florence\, and the Port of Siuslaw have come together again\nto produce Florence’s annual 4th of July fireworks display.\nThe fireworks will be shot over the Siuslaw River from the east end of the Port of Siuslaw Campground in Historic\nOld Town beginning at about 10:00 p.m. on Thursday\, July 4. The location provides a multitude of great vantage\npoints for spectators with the colorful 30-minute program reflecting off the river. \nFlorence Habitat for Humanity and the City of Florence are joining together again to host old-fashioned 4th of July\nfun for locals and visitors alike. We will work at a gentle pace\, enjoy the forest landscape \, and take some time for lunch. \nHiking information: \nWe will meet at the Neptune State Park Scenic Viewpoint north parking lot before we cross the highway to get on the trail. We will hike to our worksite\, about 1/4 to 1/2 mile in. There are some ups and downs along this trail\, about 50 feet of elevatain gain. There is no restroom at the trailhead. Closest are a 1/4 north at the Cape Pereptua Visitor Center or 1/4 south at the Neptune South parking lot. \nYou should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. DESCRIPTION:See what TKO Trail Ambassadors are all about! This event is open to existing Ambassadors and anyone interested in the program.\n\n\nHike Leaders: Noelle W.\nHike Distance: 3 miles\nElevation Gain: 300 feet\nHike Intensity: Low to Moderate\n  \nSite Overview: \nSweet Creek Falls Trail Complex is located near Mapleton on Hwy 126 inland of the Oregon Coast. Four tiered-plunges ranging from 10 to 30 feet cascade for a total of 70 feet creating a multiple waterfall effect. Many other smaller falls grace the hike in. \nHiking information: \nWe will be hiking the Sweet Creek Trail\, starting at the Sweet Creek Trail parking lot. This trail is a 3 mile route with about 300 feet in elevation gain. The first part of this hike is generally considered low intensity. Click here for more information on the trail\, including a map. \nWhat to expect: \nWe will be meeting at the trailhead in the morning to do introductions\, chat Trail Ambassadors\, and set up the table station before heading out on the hike to learn about the area we are serving. This site is managed by Siuslaw National Forest and we ask that you follow all posted signage and regulations. \nYou should expect to participate in this hike for its entirety.
