DESCRIPTION:Project Information: \nWe will be doing brushing maintenance (clearing the trail corridor) using weed whackers\, loppers\, and hand saws. We will work at a gentle pace\, enjoy the forest landscape\, and take some time for lunch. There is a restroom at the trailhead. \nHiking information: \nWe will be hiking along the sutton creeek trail. We will go about 1-2 miles working and brushing the trail as we go. \nYou should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons\, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early. \nEvent details: \nDetailed event information\, including directions to the meeting location\, will be provided to registrants via email 48 hours prior to the event. DESCRIPTION:We will be restoring the surface of the trail using digging tools and clearing back the vegetation along the trail as well.\n\n\nCrew Leader: Marty\nMax Size of Crew: 12\nHike Distance: 1 mile\nElevation Gain: less then 30 feet\nHike Intensity: Low\nWork Intensity: Moderate\nWork Type: brushing\, tread work\n  \nProject Information: \nWe will be doing some basic tread maintenance\, using grubbers\, tread tools\, and shovels to restore the surface of the trail. We will work at a gentle pace\, enjoy the forest landscape\, and take some time for lunch. \nHiking information: \nWe will meet at the Neptune State Park Scenic Viewpoint north parking lot before we cross the highway to get on the trail. We will hike to our worksite\, about 1/4 to 1/2 mile in. There are some ups and downs along this trail\, about 50 – 100 feet of elevatain gain. There is no restroom at the trailhead. Closest are a 1/4 north at teh Cape Pereptua Visitor Center or 1/4 south at the Neptune South parking lot. \nYou should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. SUMMARY:Golf tournament: Cool at the Coast
DESCRIPTION:Cool at the Coast Golf Spectacular\nJoin the fun at the 15th annual Cool at the Coast Golf Spectacular Aug 3. The tournament gives $4\,000 annually to the Rotary Polio Plus Program\, which is matched 2-1 with funding from the Gates Foundation. Since the first tournament 15 years ago\, the Florence Rotary golf tournaments have funded almost 60\,000 polio vaccina-tions worldwide. The tournament also raises money to help the Rotary Club with projects and schol-arships for the children of Florence and Mapleton. Florence Rotary extends thanks to Three Rivers Casino Resort\, Ocean Dunes Golf Links and PeaceHealth/Peace Harbor for their partnership and support.
