DESCRIPTION:Clean up After the 4th of July ! Help keep our public beach clean especially after the July 4th festivities! We will be cleaning up beach starting at Driftwood Shores – from 9 am until noon on Sunday July 5th.  \nMaster Recyclers of Florence and The City of Florence Environmental Management Advisory Committee (EMAC) along with County Transfer and Recycling (CTR) will be hosting the event. Thanks to Lane County Parks for their support and Driftwood Shores for their collaboration! Volunteers will get a “reward” for their efforts! Come and join us !\nThank you for doing your part to protect the ocean\, wildlife and environment!  \nAdvanced Registration: Is required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot. \nMeeting Location: Heceta Beach County Park Parking Lot \nAddress: 88480 1st Street Florence\, OR 97439 | Map Link \nWhat to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing\, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. DESCRIPTION:METHODIST CHURCH TO HOST MASTER RECYCLER PLASTIC TAKEBACK \nThe Florence United Methodist Church\, located at 333 Kingwood\, will host the Master Recyclers plastic takeback on Saturday\, August 17\, from 10:00-12:00. At that time they will accept #2\, #4\, and #5 plastic for recycling. Your #2 plastic jugs and bottles can go directly into the curbside recycle bin\, but the Master Recyclers will accept the #2s that cannot be collected curbside. The #2 plastics that cannot go in the curbside recycle bin include things such as lids\, tubs\, and small bottles\, smaller than your fist.\nThe plastic must be clean\, dry\, and sorted as to number. But your name and address MUST be removed from any prescription containers.\nThe City of Florence EMAC will be hosting an Arbor Day Event at the same time from 10 am until 2 pm at the Florence Senior Center.\nPlease make sure your plastics are clean and dry and sorted by number. No plastic bags will be collected\, and number 1 and 2 bottles will not be collected as they are now accepted in your comingle bin and at the transfer station in mixed recycling.
