SUMMARY:Scotch Broom Removal at Three Mile Prairie County Park – Saturday\, August 29
DESCRIPTION:Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative\, Lane County Parks\, McKenzie River Trust\, and Friends of Three Mile Prairie are co-hosting a volunteer event on Saturday\, August 29 from 10 AM to Noon at Three Mile Prairie County Park in Florence\, OR.  Volunteers are needed to protect the sand dune habitat and its native plants and animals by removing invasive Scotch broom and small trees. \nThree Mile Prairie is located north of Florence Golf Links and west of Highway 101 at Fred Meyer. It is a 15-minute walk from the northwest corner of the Fred Meyer parking lot to the work site over some sand and fairly level ground. Bring closed-toe shoes\, work gloves\, water\, and snacks. Please bring shovels\, hand saws\, or loppers if you have them. If you don’t\, ODRC will have tools you can borrow. \nDirections: From the intersection of Highways 126 and 101 in Florence\, drive north 2.3 miles and turn west into the Fred Meyer parking lot at the Fred Meyer gas station. Drive past the gas pumps and go to the northwest corner of the parking lot towards the dunes in the back. Event leaders will meet you there. \nThe Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative works to collaboratively support\, guide and promote Oregon dunes restoration and the preservation of the open sand habitat that benefits the plants\, animals and people who live and play in this special place.

DESCRIPTION:Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative is inviting volunteers to join ODRC and the Siuslaw National Forest to celebrate Public Lands Day by removing invasive Scotch broom at the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area on Saturday\, September 26 from 1 PM to 3 PM. This is an opportunity to volunteer and give back to your Public Lands! \nIt will be relatively short walk on moderately sandy slopes to get to the work area. Bring closed-toe shoes\, work gloves\, water\, and snacks. Please bring shovels\, hand saws\, or loppers if you have them. If you don’t\, ODRC will have tools you can borrow. \nThe Day Use Area is mid-way between Reedsport and Florence. Day use fees are waived for volunteers at this event. \nDirections: \nFrom Florence\, OR take Highway 101 south 11.4 miles. Look for the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area sign. Turn right (west) into the parking area. \nFrom Reedsport\, OR take Highway 101 north 11.5 miles. Look for the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area sign. Turn left (west) into the parking area. \nParking: Go past the individual parking spaces next to the side walk\, and park in the parking area for larger vehicles. \nThe Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative works to collaboratively support\, guide and promote Oregon dunes restoration and the preservation of the open sand habitat that benefits the plants\, animals and people who live and play in this special place.

DESCRIPTION:Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative and Save the Riders Dunes are inviting volunteers to remove invasive Scotch broom at the Bull Run OHV Staging Area on Horsfall Road\, Saturday\, October 10 from 10AM to Noon. This will be ODRC’s last volunteer event for 2026\, so if you haven’t been out yet\, now is your opportunity!!! \nThis will be a short flat walk\, just off of the staging area. Bring closed-toe shoes\, work gloves\, water\, and snacks. Please bring shovels\, hand saws\, or loppers if you have them. If you don’t\, ODRC will have tools you can borrow. Day use fees are waived for volunteers at this event. We will be meeting at the north end of staging area. \nDirections: \nFrom North Bend\, take Hwy. 101 North across the McCullough Memorial Bridge and turn left onto the Jordan Cove/Trans Pacific Pkwy. Go 0.8 miles and keep right to continue on Trans Pacific Pkwy. Go 0.2 miles and turn right onto Horsfall Beach Rd. Go approximately 2.1 miles and turn right into the Bull Run OHV Staging Area. \nFrom Reedsport\, take Hwy. 101 South approximately 21 miles and turn right onto the Jordan Cove/Trans Pacific Pkwy. Go 0.8 miles and keep right to continue on Trans Pacific Pkwy. Go 0.2 miles and turn right onto Horsfall Beach Rd.
