The fun and fellowship start at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. \nNews and resources available from the national organization will be discussed. PFLAG also expects to welcome special guest Sally Wantz\, who serves Florence on the City Council. \nFlorence United Methodist Church is located at 333 Kingwood St.\, on the corner of Kingwood and 2nd\, one block west of Hwy 101. \nPFLAG Florence is the local affiliate of the largest national organization in support of the LGBT+ community\, with more than 300 chapters nationwide.

DESCRIPTION:Just ahead of its regular meeting\, PFLAG Florence invites the public to attend the Florence City Council Meeting Monday\, June 10\, at 5:30 p.m. for the Proclamation of Pride Month in Florence. PFLAG will honor one of its founding members\, Ray Feay\, a longtime Florence resident who was instrumental in establishing the PFLAG affiliate in Florence.  \nFollowing the presentation\, attendees are invited to a PFLAG-hosted reception in the Fellowship Hall of Florence United Methodist Church\, 2nd and Kingwood. PFLAG will provide attendees with leis\, signs and Pride Flags for the celebration. Because City Hall and the Methodist Church are within a block of each other\, parking for the city event is available at the church as well. \nPFLAG meetings in Florence\, which are always free and open to the public\, are held on the second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Florence United Methodist Church\, located at Second and Kingwood Streets\, one block west of Highway 101. \nPFLAG is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to supporting\, educating\, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. DESCRIPTION:PFLAG will meet Monday\, May 13\, at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall to discuss current events and make final assignments for PFLAG’s appearance in upcoming the Rhody Days Parade May 19. We invite anyone from church to march with PFLAG in the parade. We have leis\, flags and signs to carry. PFLAG has appeared in the parade since 2012 (even the virtual parade in 2020). \nPFLAG was represented at the Florence Area Community Coalition’s annual Volunteer Appreciation Day at the Florence Events Center April 17. PFLAG has been a member of FACC since 2012 and presented to the organization January 3.
