DESCRIPTION:Help us celebrate Earth Day\, tidy up your home studio\, and get some fabulous new-to-you art supplies at our annual Spring Art Swap! This is a free and all ages event to help support our creative community in Florence. \nBring your gently used and no longer wanted tools\, equipment\, materials or unfinished projects to donate\, and swap them for items to take home. Free to swappers\, or $5 for guests to fill up a grocery bag.  \nEvent will be at the REAR of the building\, in our back parking area. We’ll have a couple of marked spaces across the alley for free parking! You can access the back area via entrance on Nopal street.  \nExamples of swappable items include\, but are not limited to: \n    painting- acrylic\, oil or watercolor paints\, canvas\, stretcher bars\, art pads\, palettes\, charcoals\, fixative\, etc.  \n    photography – cameras\, lenses\, accessories\, studio equipment\, digital editing software\, magazines or books  \n    sewing – patterns\, fabric\, notions\, sewing machines or accessories\, machine oil\, digital design software\, magazines or books  \n    fiber arts – yarn\, needles\, pattern or instruction books\, drop spindles\, embroidery frame\, felting equipment\, etc. \n    collage- magazines with a variety of eye catching imagery\, acrylic glaze\, glue sticks\, scissors\, assembly board \n    sculpture – armature wire\, clays\, tools\, ceramic glazes\, assemblage items \n    digital arts – software\, computer equipment\, accessories  \nAll items to donate must be in useable\, clean\, and unbroken condition.  \nDonation items may be dropped off Friday\, April 25th between 11am-6pm. If you need to get a donation to us outside of these hours\, please contact the Studio to arrange a time.  \nUn-swapped items will be donated to area charities and community groups as relevant. We appreciate our Swappers for helping us find new homes for art supplies that would otherwise go into the landfill!

SUMMARY:New Year's Day Meditation Event
DESCRIPTION:Start your new year off right with a special group Meditation Session in our Studio Workshop\, featuring a 90-minute introductory program with Dr. Fleet Maul of the Heart Mind Institute on the big screen. His approach focuses on “a deeply embodied\, neuroscience-based\, and trauma-informed approach to meditation that has radically transformed personal practice for several thousand meditators.” Everyone is welcome to attend.  \nBring blankets\, pillows\, floor chairs\, water bottle\, or other items you might need to feel comfortable during the session. A journal or notebook and writing/creative materials are also recommended. We will have extras of everything on hand\, and will have a station set up if you would like to participate in some reflective art-making afterwards. DESCRIPTION:We’re moving our creative center and gallery to a larger space in October! Help Serene Abundance Studio Space raise some funds for moving expenses\, while you shop for fun\, funky and fabulous finds! \nWe’ll have an assortment of art and craft supplies\, yet-to-be-finished projects\, books and magazines (for collage or perhaps reading)\, decor and home goods\, tools\, costumery\, fabric and sewing supplies\, collectible women’s and perhaps some men’s clothing and accessories\, close-out inventory\, possibly some home and/or display furniture\, and plenty of whatchamacallits\, flim-flams\, thingamajigs\, oddments\, and whatzits to spark your creative imagination. \nEverything will be offered at must-go prices! We’ll start promptly at 9am each day – no pre-shopping please. \nWant to support us but don’t need to shop? You can donate gently used items on the Thursday and Friday prior to the Sale. SUMMARY:Bike-In Movie Night
DESCRIPTION:COST: $5 suggested donation\, no one turned away for lack of funds. \nEnjoy an evening at the Studio in our outdoor space! We’ll be featuring a movie that celebrates the creative arts\, suitable for all ages\, and of course popcorn to go with. We might even break out the fire pit if it gets chilly. \nOur planned movie for September is “The Secret of Kells”\, featuring wonderful animation art. The story follows the journey of a boy in medieval Ireland\, and teaches about Irish and Celtic cultural heritage.  \nBiking to the event is encouraged! We will have a secure space for you to stash your wheels\, plus equipment for bike maintenance if needed. Bring your own blanket\, beverage\, and any other comfort items.  \nRSVP’s encouraged so we know how many folks to expect.

SUMMARY:Spring Art Swap
DESCRIPTION:Reduce\, Re-use & Recycle at our annual Artists Swap meet! Free to mutual swappers\, or $5 to come and fill up a grocery bag.  \nBring your gently used/unused art supplies\, tools\, unfinished projects\, vendor or retail overstock\, jewelry\, fiber arts\, digital and photography equipment\, kids’ arts and crafts\, that one weird sculpture you got from your aunt as a Christmas gift\, etc.\, and exchange them for something new-to-you.  \nAt the end of the day\, we will claim any un-swapped items either for Studio Workshop use\, or donation to our local area charities and schools.  \nSWAP DO’s AND DON’T’s: \nPlease DO donate items to the Swap; contact the Studio directly to arrange a drop off time.\n(NOTE: If you have a large donation\, please arrange to drop off AT LEAST 24hrs in advance of the event.) \nDO invite people you know\, and consider picking up items for someone who could use art supplies\, but can’t make it in person.  \nDO help spread the word about our Swap\, and encourage folks to find more ways to do creative re-use!  \nDON’T donate/swap out for items that are unusable\, significantly damaged/broken\, or dirty items. These go in the recycling bin\, the dump\, or the trash.  \nDON’T donate/swap out for items that are unrelated to art\, craft or digital art materials\, tools or supplies.  \nDON’T do pre-swapping before our start time at 9AM. Fair is fair!  \nHappy Earth Day\, and we’ll see you at the Swap!
