PRESS RELEASE – Beach Party Bingo Fundraiser for Kids in the Arts!
Get out your board shorts, hula skirt, or Hawaiian shirt, and join the C.R.O.W. team for a FUN-draiser on March 4th from 5-8 PM at Three Rivers Casino & Resort, Events Center. All proceeds go directly toward youth in the arts, and this event is sure to be a Beachy Blast! The theme was chosen to coincide with C.R.O.W.’s upcoming production of “The SpongeBob Musical,” which will be performed for two weekends in April at the Florence Events Center.
“Fundraising events like this are made possible by countless volunteer hours, generous donations, and lots of old-fashioned hard work. We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us, including parents, volunteers, and the terrific staff at Three Rivers,” said C.R.O.W.’s Executive Producer, Ellen Jacobson.
In addition to many fast-paced, super-fun Bingo games with prizes, the event will feature a 50/50 Raffle, a wine pull, and a dessert auction. There will be delicious “Krabby Patties” (hamburgers), hotdogs, sides, and sodas, plus a no-host bar for 21+. This event is for adults only, ages 18+. There will be a Bingo Grand Prize, which will be announced at a later date. There will also be a prize for “Best Dressed,” so be sure to wear your beach clothing.
The COVID-19 Pandemic wrecked havoc on the financial stability of the C.R.O.W. non-profit youth theatre organization. But despite nearly unsurmountable obstacles, C.R.O.W. managed to beat the odds, staying open and providing many free COVID-safe events and activities for the community. However, since those events were not income generating, C.R.O.W. is now embarking on a mission to rebuild and create a stable platform once again. C.R.O.W. is exceptionally grateful for the many COVID relief grants, and countless individual and business contributions that have come in. “This tells us in no uncertain terms that we need to keep going,” said Heard.
Cast members in C.R.O.W.’s mainstage musicals do not pay a dime to participate. This fact alone, differentiates the organization from nearly all other youth arts programs in the nation, who rely on charging fees ranging from $250-$400 per child for participation. “We don’t believe in pay to play, when it comes to our shows. We want them to be accessible for all families regardless of income status,” said Heard. “But this means that our funding must come from other sources such as this Fundraiser. SpongeBob is our biggest, most-expensive show to produce, to date.”
C.R.O.W. recently produced the 2022 “Holly Jolly Follies” and looks forward to producing a Spring Dance Showcase and bringing back the terrifying “Scare-C.R.O.W. Haunted Maze” this year. All funds will help C.R.O.W. to purchase costumes, set pieces, props, educational materials, and to create scholarships for deserving kids who wish to attend summer theatre camp programs and classes. “Please buy a ticket and help us provide a myriad of arts opportunities for our kids. They need us, and we need your help.”
Beach Party Bingo Fundraiser Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple. Doors will open at 5 pm. The event will run from 5 – 8 PM, with Bingo games beginning at 5:30.
