November 14, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

Waste Wise Lane County—part of the Lane County Waste Management Division—is partnering with the city of Florence to host a community informational meeting on Tuesday November 14 in the Bromley Room at the Siuslaw Public Library from 4-6 p.m. to discuss local recycling programs, environmental waste reduction projects, and Oregon State Senate Bill 582 (the Plastic Pollution and Recycling Modernization Act) updates.

All community members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Mike Miller, Florence Public Works director, and Vicki Philben, Environmental Management Advisory Committee (EMAC) chair, will kick off the meeting with updates on the city’s sustainability efforts—including the FloGro project—and share how the community can get involved in future projects.

Waste Wise Lane County’s Angie Marzano, Waste Reduction Program supervisor, and Kelly Bell, Master Recycler coordinator, will discuss Oregon’s producer responsibility efforts and upcoming Master Recycler classes and events.

There will be opportunities for asking questions, reusable item prize drawings, and refreshments.
