Introduction to iNaturalist: A social platform for exploring the natural world, connecting with others, and supporting science

Are you interested in learning more about the local plants, animals, birds, mushrooms, and other kinds of wildlife in the Siuslaw region?
iNaturalist is an online platform that enables a community of naturalists to help one another learn while collecting biodiversity data that contributes to scientific research.

This free two-hour workshop will include:
• an introduction to the purpose and uses of iNaturalist
• how the iNaturalist website and mobile app work
• how to use iNaturalist to learn about the natural world
• guided use of the mobile app to collect observations

The workshop will be presented by Rob Cuthrell, Ph.D., a researcher in historical ecology and owner of Grow Closer Nursery.
