These are just some of the words describing what many are dealing with in the midst of the pandemic. And we’re doing something about it!
On February 9, the Florence Area Chamber along with chamber’s across the state and other stakeholders are hosting a presentation by Cortney McDermott, an internationally-renowned motivational speaker who specializes in mental wellness and creating success.
People who are feeling a lot of fear and anxiety right now will understand their negative triggers and learn how to turn them for positive results—for themselves, their business, their school, their family, and their community.
McDermott has gone from being a deli waitress who couldn’t pay the bills to a bestselling author, TEDx speaker, and expert mind-body coach who, in her words, “believes in human alchemy.” She uses her success principles and practices to help some of the world’s leading organizations and creatives to “disrupt old patterns of behavior, grow sustainable businesses, and apply the physiology and psychology needed for success.” McDermott’s clients and audiences include Google, Nike, Starbucks, the US military, and NASA, and her work in the field of self-development has been featured by NBC, Success magazine, Huffington Post, Inc., Women’s Health, and scores of other health and lifestyle media.
Everyone is invited watch this and participate in it for their personal well-being, for their business or organization, and their community. Cortney will present a 20-minute TED-style talk and a 40-minute question-and-answer time. This is perfect for businesspeople, working people, parents, students, elected officials, community leaders, leaders of nonprofit organizations…anyone who is sick and tired of feeling sick and tired of this pandemic and is looking for a way to redirect their energy toward peace, power, purpose, and success. We encourage participants to share their questions or comments prior to the event by emailing email@example.com with the subject line “Anxiety to Peace Comment”.
The event is presented by the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce, underwritten by a grant from Peace Health, and sponsored locally by 85 Oregon Chambers of Commerce along with fellow stakeholders from multiple organizations who are working together to reach and support Oregon’s citizenry. Registration is $25 but members of chambers of commerce can register for $10. A number of sponsored scholarships will be available to those unable to pay the fee.
The presentation will be live-streamed via ZOOM and registrants will get an access code to login the morning of the event prior the presentation.
