An age cafe is a safe space to engage in conversation on topics including transitions and changes, gratitude, inter-generational communities, health and wellness, preparing for death, spirituality, and more. Sponsored by Lane Linn Benton Older Adult Behavioral Health Initiative, Lane County Public Health, and Siuslaw Public Library. Free and open to all; no registration required.
This support group meets on the 4th Thursday of the month at 1:00pm at St. Andrew's Episcopal, 2125 19th St in Florence. It is open to people with Parkinson’s, care partners, family, and friends. At a death cafe, people gather to eat cake, drink tea, and discuss death. There is no set agenda; participants set the discussion topics and themes.
