Free Pressure Gauge Testing & Preserving Program

August 6 @ 10:30 am - 2:00 pm
Free

Planning some canning this summer? Did you know that your pressure canner’s gauge needs regular testing? Over time, gauges can become inaccurate, and precise pressure is essential for safe canning. The Lane County Master Food Preservers will be here to do free pressure gauge testing! Bring your pressure canner lid and gauge to this drop-in program from 10:30 AM to 2 PM.

From 1-2 PM, the MFPs will also offer a preserving Q&A. Bring your questions about canning, freezing, dehydrating, and pickling. You can also get a first look at some new food preservation equipment from our library of things, including a food dehydrator, pressure canner, water bath canner, and vacuum sealer. They’ll be available for checkout after the program!

Free and open to all; no registration required. Sponsored by the library and Oregon State University Extension Service.
