City Club of Florence welcomes Health Care for All Oregon as its August 2026 Guest Speaker.
Health Care for All Oregon (HCAO): The Universal Health Care Plan for Oregon
Guest speakers from HCAO Lane County will update the community on the latest from Oregon’s Universal Health Plan Governance Board and the Lane County Chapter of HCAO.
Learn more about how Oregon became the first state to officially work on a Universal Health Plan with a deadline to submit the plan to the Oregon Legislature by September 2026.
The Universal Health Plan is being drafted to make health care access easier and more affordable than private insurance through a centralized agency, as well as provide vision and dental, without the pre-authorizations that private insurance uses to deny and delay care.
The City Club is a nonpartisan, civic discussion group that meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 1:30pm in the Bromley Room of the Siuslaw Public Library. Each month features a different guest speaker, who answers questions from the audience following their presentation.
City Club meetings are free and open to the public. Meetings are later broadcast on KXCR-FM 90.7 community radio. The Siuslaw Public Library does not sponsor the City Club or endorse the views of guest speakers.
